The jitters

On Nov.8, we set our destination and travelled seven hours by land to the Municipality of Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur Province. We arrived at Queens Pension house where we spent the night. When morning came, we prepared ourselves and visited the police station and Municipal Hall of Mahayag to have a courtesy call with the Police Officers and City officials of Mahayag. In the afternoon, our community preceptor Dr. Jerald Ramos informed us that we will be sent to our assigned community, Barangay Bag-ong Dalaguete. We were anxious for we don not know what is there in our assigned area, but nonetheless we are full of hope that everything will turn out okay. It was a bumpy ride going to our community since the road is paved not with cement, but with rocks of different sizes. When we arrived at the house where we will be staying for the duration of this exposure, we were greeted with smiling faces. We stayed with the Molo Family which includes Nanay, Tatay and Ate Marylyn. They instantly made us feel at home and helped us settle our luggages. Today marks the first day of our four year journey with the community. By God’s grace, we will bring new hope to the beautiful Barangay of Bag-ong Dalaguete.
